Bottles to Beads is an ethical business that trains and employs village women to produce beautiful glass beads and small glass items in Nepal.
The bead making process itself cleans the environment, and in training women to make these in their own homes, Bottles to Beads empowers these women and gives them a steady source of income and a financial independence. With the charming imperfections of handmade products, each item is unique and carries within its every grain the stories of the women who crafted it. Bottles to Beads places its sustainability and ethics at the very heart of its operations, and our job was to communicate that through its visual identity.
VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN The visual identity of Bottles to Beads is designed with the simplest element in design : a dot. In the Bottles to Beads universe, the dark red dot represents many things - the bead itself, the primary result of the transformation process, and the ‘tika’, a red dot that Nepalese women wear on their foreheads.
